Unfortunately who ever we appoint is on a hiding to nothing, my own theory with Ashley is it is vindictive, he bought the club as a laugh and believed in his cockney head he was dealing with a bumbling northern monkey in Freddy Shepherd, he is that arrogant he failed to do due diligence and subsequently found that he has had his trousers taken down. When things soured with the fans and he could not get his revenge on Freddy Shepherd he could have his revenge on us and Ashley likes his revenge ice cold. It is like a cat playing with a mouse he may sell but only if he makes a big return to justify his own blunder. Personally I have lost interest, the last England game I watched was 1990, I did not know who won the champions league final until the next day I am just not bothered about football outside of Newcastle. The Premiership is so distorted as to make it boring for clubs outside the top 6 who financially are going away from the rest. Now we have VAR, the one great moment in football is scoring, the moment when you hug random strangers now we have to sit 7 minutes while the check if someone's toe is offside. At least I can look back on football when it was real not this game I barely recognise.

Well the club are already leaking stuff implying that the new man will only be head coach who will work in partnership with the head of recruitment.

This model is fine in principle....the only problem is that our head of recruitment will be working within fatso's ridiculous, tight-fisted and totally unrealistic restrictions. Which self-respecting manager would want to work that way?
