Thread: It's back, it won't go away, Part Two

It's undeniably a tricky issue to get your head around, but many politically neutral observers like you sinkov, conflate and confuse “anti-Semitism” whenever a Labour Party member comes out with a criticism of the Israeli government’s Zionist policy and appalling treatment of the Palestinians. Redressing social injustice is not “anti-Semitic.”

To support Jewish self-determination and political autonomy on the one hand is laudable, but on the other, is rather hypocritical because that is what the disposed Palestinians also want for themselves.

The prominent Jewish civil rights lawyer Alan Dershowitz commented, “A world that closed its doors to Jews who sought escape from Hitler's gas ovens lacks the moral standing to complain about Israel's giving preference to Jews."

Mr Dershowitz might be well served to remind himself that the State of Israel is now participating in the ghettoization, segregation, apartheid and casual genocide of millions of Palestinians. And that cannot be justified no matter what Zionists like Luciana Berger believe.

Last night I sat through one hour of the BBC's worst example of "investigative journalism" during a Panorama special on alleged "Anti-Semitism" in the Labour Party.

The words "suggest", "I think", "shocked, horrified and appalled," were chucked about like confetti at a traditional wedding by a whole squad of disaffected, sacked or displaced former Labour Party staff.

No evidence mind, no names, no collaborative evidence, just the usual anti-Corbyn nonsense. Time the BBC was rolled up, wrapped up and replaced with proper journalists like John Pilger. Now there's a journalist who can root out the "truth".

I'd heard about the possible one sided narrative.....so thought i'd see for myself - must say, I wasn't disappointed....yes, was much to be 'imagined' offensive....but evenhanded it wasn't - so found the partiality of it worrying - but then they're not called the British Bias Corporation...for nothing !

I believe it is. The US piles pressure on the UN in New York to turn a blind eye.

Former US President Jimmy Carter sort of nailed it:
“For the last 30 years, I have witnessed and experienced the severe restraints on any free and balanced discussion of the facts. This reluctance to criticize any policies of the Israeli government is because of the extraordinary lobbying efforts of the [AIPAC] and the absence of any significant contrary voices.

“It would be almost politically suicidal for members of Congress to espouse a balanced position between Israel and Palestine, to suggest that Israel comply with international law or to speak in defence of justice or human rights for Palestinians.”

That's what the Nazis said in the Warsaw ghetto and the East Germans warned on the Berlin Wall. The IDF using civilians for target practice with live ammo sort of chills my blood.
