I don't think there is any chance of Mowbray offering Gallagher 25k a week, given his response to Bauer.

I look at Armstrong, who had a steady first season.
It was widely regarded we got him for a steal. After seeing him in the Champ, did we really? Was he ever actually worth anything over £1.75m? Okay, pretty solid at times. Sometimes completely unanimous.
Is Gallagher any better? So anyone paying his £25k a week is a bit stupid. As you won't get value for money.
As you say Auks, TM won't pay that. Its silly money for an ok player. Probably no real sell on potential, and doesn't get many goals. For £5m and £25k a week I want a striker to be getting as many as Dack and Graham. Gallagher wouldnt give us that.
Bauer was ok, if we didnt have to over-pay, he would be here already. PNE over-paid. We watched him, and while we thought he was worth a punt, that was it. We simply won't overpay. I watched him a few times and never thought he would be the answer. Same with Gallagher. I'd like to see him here, but only if the fee is right.
My fear is, we over-pay, he doesn't start banging them in from day one, fans start getting on his back. Like Brereton last season.

Despite all I say above, todays paper talk states we are very close to getting this deal done. Why aren't other clubs interested? Thats also a slight concern.
