    More American investment...

    This time in Hibs: http://www.hibernianfc.co.uk/news/10094

That's both Dundee clubs and now Hibs potentially having serious backing...it seems unlikely to be a coincidence. What do they know about what's coming? Or have they just realised a cheap toy to play with in Scotland is just as much fun as an expensive one in England?

Hibs have been ripe for takeover for years.

Our debt was being slowly but surely wiped out, we re-built the stadium and splurged over £5m on a training facility.

He's come in at a time when our average crowds are at their highest in decades, our season ticket sales are at their highest ever.

Ive been saying this for years, scottish football has been ripe for years aswell.

These folk want to get their teams in to the champions league to get their companies exposure, it would take a hell of a lot less to get a team from Scotland than a team from england to that point.

Im not saying that's what this boy is going to do with us.

Im excited and apprehensive at the same time.

The turnaround in Hibs has been great but from the outside I still find it hard to imagine how any external investor could see Scottish football, outside the OF, as a genuine return for investment. Killie had their best side in generations, didn't even reach Hampden in the cup and only just sneaked a guaranteed Euro spot on the last day. Hibs could well invest heavily, play brilliant football for a year and still achieve next to nothing in the grand scheme of things...and when there's only one CL place available for the league winners, the risk/reward ratio on that seems staggeringly against you. I do agree Scottish football is heavily undervalued - we do ourselves down compared to England but we don't match lots of Scandinavia, Austria, Holland etc. McCann made money at Celtic because there was clear potential from bigger crowds, new stadium and the TV/Euro money boom. If Hibs already have their stadium and (relatively) big crowds, the potential there is already met though. It will certainly be interesting and as I said it seems unlikely a trio of random Amis suddenly decided one day Scotland was the place to be.
