    coincidence ?

Ilkeston town have appointed Nick Hawkins as Chief Operating Officer. He was the sole owner of Nuneaton Borough between November 2018 and Feb 2019. It is fair to assume that he was appointed by Alan Hardy as he is still the owner of Ilkeston. Now for the coincidence. Nuneaton Boroughs ground was purchased in 2018 by Norman Smurthwaite.

    Yes, I reckon so.

I haven't seen a single piece of evidence that Smurf has made an offer for the club, or even that he's interested. In fact, he actually ruled himself out a few months ago. All we've heard is that he might be interested in picking us up on the cheap if we go into admin.

Also, Hardy said 'buyers' in his address to the fans, suggesting a consortium.

Smurf is hovering for admin. Pick it up and either make money from development or sell it to one of the group's who want development. As the debt has to be paid over 3 years, he'd make a tidy profit no doubt.

I think however, we aren't heading for adminstration and as bills are being paid, I'm fairly confident a deal is nearly there

People said AH would be good for the club because he's a sound businessman, who's companies don't have any debt....

Problem is Running a football Club is completely different to running an everyday business, which Hardy has found out at a large cost to himself
