I hope you're not going to be one of those happy-clapper the board can do no wrongers Garlick, it's hard enough to cope with 59's infectious enthusiasm without you encouraging him. Most of us like a good moan on here, proper Burnley fans us, we can moan for England.

I do forget these salient facts because I live a long way from the area and it is good to be reminded about genuine moaning as opposed to the sort I hear up here from Toon fans!

Don't get me wrong but to continue the signing of Stoke has beens (Pieters, Crouch and Walters) does not inspire me with confidence in the direction BFC are heading. May be Jay Rod might be a reasonable buy but even this is a signing at the end of his career. Just once it would be nice to have a signing where we say "Phew" that is some signing!! However it looks doubtful we will ever get that type of moment. The club is being run on a shoestring even for BFC standards. I am not expecting massive fees to be spent but there are players who are out of contract (i.e. no fee) but need to be renumerated a bit more than our normal level - I dont see why we cant look at those players.

Offering at the moment - I still think Murphy from Cardiff would have been a good shout, but as I’ve posted before I find it incredible that across numerous continents and even Europe there isn’t a player for us that would improve our squad and chances of surviving in this league.
Anyway I’m like a record with a crack in it - the infuriating thing is if you read the posts on here we all seem to be off the same hymn sheet as to what’s needed a creative middle of the park man , power width and pace players.
Pace scares everyone in the modern game - sideways football does not ( our general style of play).
I’m pretty sure we can’t all be wrong.
