    Ilkeston in the FA Cup

Potentially very significant news - Ilkeston have been accepted into the draw for the preliminary round of the FA Cup.

The rules are clear that you can’t have two clubs owned by the same owner, and also that members of the Football League on the 1st April are automatically entered. The obvious conclusion would be that the FA are convinced that the two clubs won’t have the same owner when the competition starts in a few weeks.

Or that we won't exist long enough to take part.

We’re in the list of entrants for both the FA Cup and the FA Trophy, so it’s not that we’ve not been accepted. Whisper it, but this could be tangibly good news.

Do you have a link to the single owner rule? I can't find anything about ownership on the FA's PDF on rules of the competition.

Well it's quite simple, either the club is sold or put into admin if neither of these in a few weeks the club wont exist so no need for Ilkeston or FA to worry about that rule.
