    Your Top 10 Sporting Moments

After the amazing England v New Zealand game, I got to thinking which sporting moments, either watched in person, on TV or listened to on the radio, would I include in my personal Top 10?

It turned out to be much more difficult than I’d anticipated to narrow it down to ten. Maybe I should have made it Top 50, but here’s mine.

1966 World Cup Final – England 4 West Germany 2 (TV)
1975 League Cup – Leeds 0 Notts County 1 (In person)
    1977 Centenary Test, MCG – Derek Randall’s 174 (Radio)
    1981 Promotion to Div.1 – Chelsea 0 Notts County 2 (In person)
    1990 Play-Off Final, Wembley – Notts County 2 Tranmere 0 (In person)
    1991 Play-Off Final, Wembley – Notts County 3 Brighton 1 (In person)
    1996 European Championship – England 4 Holland 1 (TV)
2001 World Cup Qualifier – Germany 1 England 5 (TV)
    2015 Ashes, Trent Bridge – Stuart Broad’s 8 for 15 (In person)
2019 ICC World Cup Final – England v New Zealand (TV)

Mine all have to be stuff I've seen in person watching the ***y stylish Pies:
1985 FA Cup fixture against Spurs: 1-1 robbed of a perfectly good winner by David Hunt, great game though.
1985 - league game against Bury 2-2 draw, great entertainment, Mick Waite a mile offside for our equaliser, but the goal stood.
1986 5-0 home win against Rotherham, Charlie broke out from a Rotherham corner and chipped the keeper for the 5th goal absolute stunner.
1991 FA Cup v Man City - 1-0 Gary Lund, amazing Notts performance.
    1991 Play-Off Final, Wembley – Notts County 3 Brighton 1
1993 final home game of the season 7th May v Sunderland 3-1 to Notts guaranteeing we stayed up. Peach of a goal from Drapes. All other results went Sunderland's way, meaning that they stayed up too.
1994 League Cup against Spurs 3-0 to Notts - stunning performance from the whole team
1994 at home to Florest 2-1 to Sir Charlie Palmer, great header
2009 first game of the season against Bradford 5-0 Hughes hat trick - first sign of what was to come on the pitch that season.
2010 FA Cup v Man City 1-1 great game
2011 league cup away to Rushcliffe Rovers, 3-3 after extra time, lost on penalties, but a great performance by both teams.

    All in person:
1977 England v Australia at Headingley, G Boycott scores the 100th 100 of his career
1984 FA Cup Semi-Final - Adrian Heath scores in the 119th minute v Southampton at Highbury
    1984 Graeme Sharp's goal v L*%^&pool at the Toilet
1992 German Cup Semi Final - Borussia Mönchengladbach v Bayer Leverkusen 2-2 after 120 minutes - the Gladbach keeper saves the first 4 Leverkusen penalties to send Gladbach to Berlin
1994 Jonathan Davies scores 'that try' and a 12 man GB beat Australia still the only time I've seen that happen live
1995 Nayim's winner in the ECWC Final for Real Zaragoza v Arsenal
1998 Sheffield Eagles 17-8 Wigan at Wembley
2005 England v Australia at Trent Bridge to put us 2-1 up with one to play.
2015 Granit Xhaka scores in the 92nd minute for Gladbach in the Rheinderby to win the game 1-0 - my son's first Rheinderby and we were right behind the goal as it went in.
    2015 Broad 8-15 v Australia

Searle Brothers winning gold in 1992 (clawed back so much ground in the finish)
Frankel's 2000 Guineas win in 2011 - put the rest to the sword
Flintoff's run out of Ponting at The Oval in his last test 2009

now for some copying - Agree T&D's Bolero gold - magnificent.

    * - I'm delighted we won but surely the '6' needs a rule change to allow for inadvertent intervention not giving an advantage.
