Surely it was when Maggot was the Education minister in the 70's Heath government?

I used to hate drinking my milk at school. Pushing a straw through the silver top into invariably warm milk or in winter it would actually have ice forming in it.

She's to be commended for getting rid of it albeit about five years too late to save me.

81 sounds about right, could be wrong but it certainly wisnae 71.

P.S. just googled it and it was stopped for secondary school in 71, primary must have been a decade later

    I found this online
In 1968 - free milk was abolished in secondary schools, and in 1971, Baroness Thatcher, who was Education Secretary in the early 1970s, ended free school milk for children over the age of seven.
That'll explain why I still go free milk in the late 70's and early 80's for Primary 1,2 & 3.
In Primary 4, I was 7, so didn't get then

Best thing Maggie ever did, school milk was disgusting.

Kept by the radiator, the bottom (drank through straws so the cream really) was so repulsive, I'm aboot spewin just thinking about it.

It was just a primary school thing for me but then I moved up to Secondary in 1970

Didn't Maggie only abolish free school milk in England?

I had free school milk at primary school in the 70s. And it was disgusting on a hot day. I wish it had been banned here too.

    Minkist.

Whole milk too. Bloody awful unless it's served at optimum drinking temperature.

    It never was.

1st Devlin - turned too easy but also thought Vyner should get a mention as after watching a player coming in after turning a defender, he should have stepped into the middle of the pitch to block the direct route to goals as a defensive midfielder should do (sweep in front of your back 2) I'm not putting the blame on Leigh (as it was also his job) as he had dropped into centre back to cover Devlin when he stepped up and was picking up a player I think
2nd McKenna - thought he should have step closer to mcginn to get the ball but then also letting the cross pass him
3rd McKenna - for leaving a massive channel, he was the free centre back so should be the player that blocks the direct route to goal
When you see the goal from behind the goals you watch him following the ball on that direct line to goal but when the ball gets moved back across he doesn't move and leaves a massive channel - this one was hard as being fair it was a brilliant team goal
4th Devlin - not picking up when looking at a free man
