    Vintage Wing Play

Seldom do I walk away from Palmerston thinking " Wow just wow " at an individual performance ( Dobbie vintage excluded) but Saturday was one of those rare occurrences. The old style classic wide play by the Motherwell left winger was nothing short of brilliant. Strong powerful surges, with ball seemingly tied to his feet and a bag of tricks into the bargain. He tormented poor Mercer who was game as ever but could not halt this guys surging runs to the bye line. I wasnt sure it was Seedorf or someone else but would like to think the boy could show it in the Scottish Premier League . Got to say that I wasnt as appreciative at the time it was happening but worth mentioning now.

I think it was Hylton that you are referring to as he completely tortured Mercer after coming on, was brought down questionably for the penalty and scored the final goal with a curling shot from outside the box. Seedorf scored the second with the run along the byeline scoring from a very tight angle and also looks to be some prospect. Could be entertaining watching Motherwell this season if these two play but I doubt if SPL teams will sit off as much as Queens did in that second half.

As well as Seedorf and Hylton's great play the Steel Men also had Man. Utd legend Andy Coles son also playing a wide role and as JRsLPeg said it was good to watch them.

This is another example of how 'nice ' we are down here. The crucial penalty given to Motherwell very, very soft and yet not a murmur of protest. I remember last season when we got a couple of dodgy pens last season and people were almost apologetic about it. That kind of attitude is a clear difference between us and central belt area teams and fans. Win at all cost up there and we are more "well if we win we win but the most important thing is you had a lovely time and a nice cup of tea '

iv been seeing this from queens fans for years now jr ,nail on the head there ,and that attitude from our fans spreads right through everything at queens ,everything seems easily accepted ,we have to be about the only club that has this ,example how do you think the fans of these central belt clubs react to things like the size of budgets ,chairmen, managers ,coaches ,youth teams ,league positions ,mediocrity ,these fans from the central belt clubs would be protesting till there eyeballs burst at nearly every aspect of what our fans accept as doing well .you could prob place me in the bracket of these central belt fans as nothing is ever good enough for me .and win at all costs is defo me to a tee .

Could you imagine Stephen Robinson's and Motherwell fans response if they had been on the end of that decision and lost the game. I can.
