I think the fact there is someone challenging for their place helps, looking at the young boys that came on they could be pushing for starting places
Following on from Craig Currans comments that he just wasn't fit enough last year it's amazing how many players in or around our team with a point to prove.
Kerr (V nearly away twice), Meekings (can he fully recover from injury), Curran (self confessed not fit enough), Hamilton ( can he get his confidence back), Nelson (can he get a run without injury)......throw in Davies (doubt we will see him though) and even Paul McGowan and we have a lot of players playing for there own pride as well as the club.

Can't understand Currans comments on his fitness.
As much as I hate the dabs, one thing i could never critise was their fitness, don't see how he could come from Yinited and not be fit ?
Didn't look unfit when he played last season, just shyte.
Curran must know he's tainted by association with that scumbag McIntyre and needs to get rid of that stigma pronto. Getting fit and taking chances can only help.
Remember a lot of dabs complaining when McNamara was manager regards fitness but outwith that it was definitely one of their strengths especially in the 80's when a lot of their game was on quick breaks ,not sure what he's going to use as an excuse if he goes back to being pish....
Nelson quite complimentary of him (maybe he wud say that) and I don't think he's blaming the dabs, he's blaming himself.
I'm not 100% sure what he brings apart from being decent in the air and running about a lot but a goals a goal, let's see what he does from here.
Competition from the guy from rangers (if we sign him) instead of being almost guaranteed a game from McIntyre may actually help him.
If Curran scores against the dabs , all will be forgiven.
But all he's done now, is put himself under pressure, hopefully more goals will follow.
