Might be a blessing in disguise. Sounds as though Ward is nowhere near getting fit yet and still has a lot of rehab to do.
It seems like a risk we don't need to take now we have oodles of money to spend on new players 😉. Might as well get some fit ones.

    Or fat ones...🙁

Best thing he can do is get himself fit and see what the playing market is like when eventually he is something like fit.

If we offered him £2k a week, he's probably thinking that he'll take the hit until he gets fit and then get £8k a week in the Championship.

Risky, there's no guarantee on his fitness and he could end up with no grand a week for a long time!!!

Warney said that even if G.Ward's training went to plan , he wouldn't be available to play until near the end of the season., so it would have been more like a signing for 2020/21 if it had gone ahead.

He will do well to get a championship club imo. His best chance of getting back in championship is to sign with us and get games under his belt and if he's good enough then somebody will snap him up or he will be in the championship with us next season.

    he doesn't want to come.

been out injured for the next 6-12 months and a club offers you security you would take it.

he is obviously finacially secure and thinks a fit grant ward is better than rotherham.

Said from the beginning this was a no go..

Grant Ward won't kick a ball in anger this season so why take him on. We're not a charity are we .....

Yes we might be quackers to do it.

But on another thread we have posters discussing betting on the league 1 leading scorer, Vassell at 50-1, Lapado at 25-1 etc

A gamble that seems sort of acceptable to most, and Grant Ward is the same, a gamble, just higher stakes
