Calderwood has been impressed with Jones and has signed him on a years contract. There must be something about him considering his career. He has been less than complimentary about County, quite damning really.
He said that being at United was refreshing as everyone pulled together, compared to the toxic atmosphere at County.
Last season at County he said that players played as individuals, some players were carried, and that nobody was singing from the same hymn sheet, the season before was great.
Where did all this negative emotion come from.? County should not have gone down last year, but did. It shows how off the field nonsense can relegate clubs.
Its the manager that sets the tone. The rot had set in before Kewell. Intuition tells me it was Nolan.
Promotion out of League One was secure largely in his absence, and a first team place at Hillsborough proved to be out of reach as Wednesday struggled to survive in the Championship in the 2012–13 season under the stewardship of new boss Dave Jones. Searching for first team football elsewhere, he left Wednesday by mutual consent on 17 January 2013.[27][28]
On 14 April 2014, Jones was sacked by Port Vale following a training ground bust-up that left club captain Doug Loft with a facial injury.
However, he was then forced to miss another six months with a re-occurrence of the same injury, before managing a return to fitness in the Chesterfield's 1–0 defeat to Oldham Athletic on 4 February 2017.[43] He remained in and out of the side and was released by manager Gary Caldwell following the club's relegation to League Two at the end of the season.[44]
On 1 September 2018, he was sent off for committing a two-footed challenge on Lloyd James in a 3–1 home defeat to Forest Green Rovers; new manager Harry Kewell watched the game from the stands.[51] He was released by Notts County at the end of the 2018–19 season.[52]

Decent player, better going towards than purely defending, good left foot, best days behind him , atrocious attitude and will happily take a pension contract from you.
Ps, and give very little in return.
There seem to be a fair few of last seasons squad complaining about attitude and lack of teamwork, none seem to want to take any of the blame on themselves, i think they need to take a look in the mirror and ask themselves could they have done more? they wont though because they're a bunch of spineless, whinging babies who haven't done a days work in their lives.
the last 2 teams he has played for have been relegated out of the football league while he was playing for them. Draw your own conclusions.
Here's the article where Jones gives his take on things at Notts:

In a nutshell, it was everybody else's fault. The toxic atmosphere. Certain players playing as individuals rather than a team.
Not a hint that he takes any personal responsibility. The way he paints it, all the other individuals failed and he just got dragged down with them. Quite ironic really that in criticising everyone else he demonstrates where his attitude was.
Good luck to him...let's see if he can complete the hat trick.
