This is the company owned by the brothers who are reported to be buying Notts:

    https://www.footballradar.com/

As you can see, they take an analytic approach to football analysis and then provide punters with specialised betting advice. As a result of their work, they have access to a **** load of data on players from all over the world.

We are assuming that their interest in Notts stems from the work they do, and that they will take a similar data-driven approach to recruitment and tactics, like Brentford (and that film Moneyball). But who knows.

Whatever they do, they would be struggling to devise a worse business model than the ones we've seen in recent years.

I agree with you but I bet you there will be screams of anguish when Hemmings, Boldwijn, Kellet and Dennis are all off loaded to reduce costs while we bring in journeymen and young lads to plug the gaps.

Absolutely. I personally hope that they do apply their expertise to the running of our club. It would be a welcome change from what we're used to, and if it works, we'd have a huge competitive advantage over other clubs in terms of scouting.

My neighbour is a brentford supporter and says that it's working really well for them. Buying players and selling them on for a good profit. Cheers for the replies

Why would that be part of their business plan? I mean the second part, the first part seems fair enough.

If that's what's needed to get the club on a stable financial footing, then it just has to be done.

It depends what their starting finances are, really. If they have some cash to play with after paying off the immediate debts they may choose to retain the current players for one year to see if it can propel us straight back up, but over time I'm sure they will be using their scouting expertise to try to recruit better value players than the ones we have now.

On the other hand, if settling the debts takes up most of their available resource, then we could indeed see a fire sale, with more immediate measures to re-shape the squad. I don't mind them bringing in journeyman and younger lads on less expensive contracts if that's what's needed. The trick (and hopefully their talent) will be to help Ardley bring in the right type. O'Brien could be described as a journeyman and he's a good value one, unlike David Vaughan!

It could well be that we will plunder the international market far more as well, especially around Scandinavia.

This was posted in a different thread earlier and seems to give a flavour of their style and what they do...

All I can see is a black box, but that might be my computer!

I hope they won't take us into a black hole!
