    The Ashley Strategy becomes clear...

So we've been here before - shocked that fat man is splashing the cash on players and can't quite understand why he's backing a sh!te manager when he could have had a wold beater and funded the purchase of player to match the manager calibre.

    My theory is this:

Keep on throwing up the noise of take overs and Interacting with interested parties to make I look plausible whilst having no intention of selling the club.

Bring in a batch of players who are going to be CL quality in the near future. Install a manager with no time to mould the team of late arrivals into a unit to ensure relegation.

Players prove themselves as the last batch did Gini, etc. Flog them on for mega money. Bring in a bunch of dross to get us back in the Prem for chicken feed.

Launder the money from player sales through the 900 leech companies associated with NUFC so the cooked books make the club look insolvent. Get the PR liars to big the owner up for putting his own cash in to save the club.

    Rinse and repeat.

Last time it was McClown this time Bruce.

    What does everyone else think?

Seems pretty good business when you consider the parachute payments and clearing the decks of big earners every 2-3 seasons.

With Brucie on a sh!te salary loaded with Brucie Bonuses if he achieves fat man and Penfold have hit the jackpot!

The FA and governing body of the national sport should be hung for facilitating this kind of criminality! It's fraud / daylight robbery of an outrageous scale.

Moreover its an insult to the city the history of the club and those who, like us, are bound by blood to support it.

God damn I despise that man!

Excellent post I couldn’t put it better myself, unfortunately for the fans it’s completely true.

I agree with a lot of that Ragatino, but I don't think his strategy is as clear cut.

Why hire Rafa and keep him on for three years? In Ashley world, Rafa was being paid way more than any other managers we've had.

I think a lot of it is taking it as it comes, but - like you say - with no intention of selling and making money for himself/his companies being the main thing.

i think i agree with this.

Although Ragatino, it is a very clever theory and i cant rule it out completely. That would be a very sophisticated scheme, also its pretty risky particularly dropping down to the championship.

I have to say this last move getting rid of Rafa has really killed my interest in a club i've loved since i was 5-6 years old. i dont know mannnn im so over it

He gives money to a manager that agrees their style of buying players. Scouts working and executives buying them. Rafa got rid of Carr and wanted to do it with his own style. Ashley probably said ok but then you have to manage with your own budget.

I agree with this assessment of Ashley's running of the club.

However one thing has changed, previously he paid the full amount when buying players but sold them on the never never, probably to save taxes per annum.

I have read that he is buying Joelinton in payments WHY ?
Is it possible that he still wants to sell and is throwing the debt on to a buyer.?

Not sure about: Launder the money from player sales through the 900 leech companies associated with NUFC so the cooked books make the club look insolvent.

What I would say is that the so-called strategy does not involve spending the money that Rafa asked for on an ongoing basis. A flash signing is cheaper than sustaining investment on a full-fledged "project".

The strategy is to run the club on a shoestring, minimise net investment and realise a profit on resale. Anything else is giving the clueless cu'nt too much credit. Rafa was too uppity and high-maintenance so yes-man Bruce (despite him swearing he is not) was installed for an easier life. His only brief is to avoid relegation and keep his neck wound in.

He had a top manager and paid him good money but gave him not much money
He doesn't like a big name or fans favourite
****e managers get ****e wages but money for players
