Joel Wilson's incompetence certainly helped. As did Paine's for wasting a review on a lost cause, to not challenge it. And Lyon for ballsing up a run out. But overall Stokes will be the one remembered.

My day 3 Oval tickets might still be worth using....

What drama, it had everything from sheer genius with a bat to inept fielding to crap umpiring to specs cleaning of epic proportions. Take another tablet mac, oh sod it where's the plonk!!

There must've been something in my cereal this morning. That did not just happen.

Beefy, Flintoff, stand down, arise Sir Stokes!

As I am in a cynical mood today, it seems, can someone tell Dustin Melton to take Mitch Marsh out please.

He is the key to allowing Australia to get more balance into their attack, (and thus Starc back into the side) as he can bowl a tidy 12 overs a day for not many runs, allowing the somewhat more profligate, yet wicket taking, Starc to take his rightful place in the side, Headingly showed us that they have a very negative bowling approach, focussing on line, length and run squeezing - but little differentiation and lacking the aggression and left handedness of Starc.

I think if Australia line up Warner, Khawaja*, Smith, Labuschagne, Head, Marsh, Carey, Cummins, Starc, Lyon, Hazelwood at Old Trafford then we would struggle far more than if they stick to a flat 4 man attack.

Then again are they going to drop the (stand in) captain, who cannot buy a run nor make a good DRS decision. Its a big call.
