    Swans v Hull

Well here it is, the start of a new season today in the Championship versus Hull, and it’s all change.
A new manager Steve Cooper debuts after Graham Potter resigned at the first opportunity and went to Brighton, taking all his backroom staff with him after only one season in charge.
Deja-vu as the heart of the team is ripped out once again, with the departure of two of our young guns, top scorer McBurnie and flying winger James (the youth is our future they said).
Other departures - Fer, Olsson, Narsingh, Ayew(J), Carter-Vickers, Bony
Incoming players- goalkeeper Woodburn on loan from Newcastle, winger Kris Peterson for 500k from Heracles Almelo, left back Jake Bidwell from QPR free transfer, midfielder Ben Wilmot on loan from Watford.
High earners - Carroll, Ayew(A), Baston, Montero, can’t get rid, still here milking the club dry.

Hull have a new manager too, former Doncaster Rovers boss Grant McCann, following Nigel Adkins departure.
They’ve just signed a giant 6’5” forward Tom Eaves from League 1 Gillingham (38 goals from 84 matches), set pieces will be a problem then.

New loanee Freddie Woodman went straight into the side in preference to Nordfelt and Mulder. Hoorn and Rodon centre backs, with new centre back Wilmot on the bench. Baston in after the McBurnie departure.
Hull were ahead within a few minutes, Batty turning in a Grosicki shot . Hull played a high press and gave us no room on the ball and their close marking disrupted our play. Both teams went for it with plenty of attacking intent but the Swans couldn’t supply the finishing touch with Hull closing us down and blocking every shot on goal.p first half.
Second half and we came out all guns blazing, scoring two quick goals, both headers, from Baston and Van der Hoorn, and we started to dominate and should have scored more. A Hull come back in the last 15 mins made it a nervous time but we hung on for what was a deserved win.

It was important to get that first win under our belt. Hull were tough and uncompromising and were well fired up for this encounter. Much the same game pattern as the Atalanta match we weren't at the races first half but second half we were much better and more ourselves. Three bookings to two against us wasn't a true reflection of Hull's heavy handed approach and poor refereeing allowed Hull to continue unimpeded.
Dyer's booking as he was subbed and walking off was odd, as was the Hull players being allowed to bundle us of the ball without reproach.
Next up Derby away, the second of seven matches in August including the Carabao Cup game against Northampton.
