The season we thought might never happen...

... Is actually here. It feels a bit like the longest AND shortest gap between seasons ever. The interminable waiting for something to happen, unfulfilled promised whilst we crept closer to oblivion. Then one week and everything changed, a whole close season crammed into the last week before the season starts.

What a journey. Suspect a couple of things helped save us. Firstly and must importantly, that pressure from the Haydn Green estate, and secondly, our heritage which makes us that bit different to some other clubs.

When we've lost 3 on the bounce at some point this season, it'd be easy to call for change and go back to the madness of the last 9 years, but guess we'll just have to be patient (says the last patient person in the world ) and remember how we felt a few weeks ago.

Here's to a season of success on and off the pitch. To realistic ambition on our part. To owners who are in it for the long game. And most of all, to some much needed wins. Cheers everyone!

Yes the best way to repay the manager, the staff and the new owners for the work they have done in the past week or so is to be PATIENT and get behind the lads, it's going to take time to turn things around.

Just off to get the bus - COME ON YOU PIES!!!!

    Absolutely agree!

I want to see Neil Ardley still with us at the end of the season, unless it goes really wrong and we are cut adrift. I don't think it will, mid-table will do me fine although with 46 games to go I don't think play-off are out of the question.

Hi All. Just want to add good luck for the coming season. Followed proceedings over the summer and so glad to see you back on track and actually assembled a good looking squad in a short space of time. Feeling you will do well this season. Just hope you get used to the different style of play in non league. Some good signings on paper so hope they work out.

    Stags fan in peace.

Really do hope God is with us this (and every other) season and that His signings pay off.

Best of luck to the Stags and hope it won’t be too long before proper rivalry can be renewed!

Fixed the little typo..... Best of luck for today and rest of season. Backed you to win today at a very generous 15/8.

Yes it's wonderful that we've got a team at last. The score today is not important the main thing is we start without deduction of points and we have some very useful players we won't expect a lot to start with, these players have to blend as a team then watch us go.With management backing us through the season picking up on weaknesses it certainly is going to be interesting.COYP.

Any football season is down to the players and manager, but let’s just hope, we, as fans, can for once keep our aims realistic. Patience is a great word to throw around before the first ball is kicked, but we really need to chill and let Ardley put a team together. Credit goes to him and the owners for, as was said above, cramming a whole preseason into basically one week. We need to remember that on a cold and wet Tuesday night when it’s route one football being dominated by the six foot plus players.
Let’s review the season when the season is complete, not in three games!
