A difficult one to judge... He had his 23rd birthday a few days ago, and is probably still improving. Scoring regularly in League 2, but previously showed little sign of doing that at League 1 level. He is now at an age where he should be playing first team football though. We don't know Warney's plans re our current loan players. If Morris or Hastie went back to their parent clubs in January, it's not impossible that Yates would return to the NYS.

Mike, I forgot just how young Yates is but, like you say should Morris/Hastie be recalled then it would leave us short. However, picture this scenario as it is a long way off and may not even happen. We recall Yates and we get promoted, would Yates be strong enough for the Championship? Plus his contract is coming to an end so, would you risk giving him another 2 year one?

Yates for all we know may be bulking up on muscle and actually becoming a good player. It's so long since we've seen him since play for us, he may actually a good recall.

Sounded like Kayode played well but just couldn't score - a couple of great saves by the Linnets keeper and a couple of near misses...

KAYODE (NLN, Gateshead) played whole game, L0-1
PALMER (L2, Bradford C.) not in squad (knee injury) D1-1
ETIA (NPLNW, Brighouse T.) match postponed, frozen pitch

    National League North
    Kidderminster 1 Gateshead 1
KAYODE played the whole game, but didn't score. Been listening to the radio commentary. The 'Heed were put under the cosh second half and did quite well to hold out for a point.

ETIA came on as sub today for the Millers Reserves , but only for the last 5 minutes (L2-4). Presumably still recovering from injury (?)
