I have been trawling the net and it seems he will, if he comes (WBA are apparently trying to hijack the deal and Burnley are also interested) be on £100K a week and that will be covered by Rooney related new sponsorship deals.

...........and I believe that, as a coach as well as player, only 50% of his salary counts against FFP? Not sure about this, but.... And if his wages are indeed covered by a sponsorship deal as MA suggests, then his arrival may actually be FFP positive!

That said, I am not 100% convinced that this is a great move in that we will create a midia circus which could distract the team from the task at hand. Bah humbug

My manure season ticket holder work colleague says he likes his beer and chasing the women and would just use us as a means of small income while he finishes his badges, then he'd be off, there's got to be some method in his madness to come here

I'd heard this January idea Mista, but not sure why he has rushed over here to sign things up now if he wont be available till then. The US season ends in October doesnt it, so if we sign him up now, why isn't he available in November at latest?

Sky, the DT and BBC1 are all talking about a deal being done by the end of today and DC United are saying they already have a ready made replacement. January doesn’t seem to make sense...why rush over two days before the August deadline?

Now here's an interesting thing. A DC transfer to DC? I wonder if Mel secretly owns the other DC?

The MLS transfer window shuts tomorrow hence the rush to get it done today as DC need to get the replacement classified(registered I guess) before tomorrow but that doesn't make any sense, unless it's a loan now as a player till Jan and permanent from then as a player/coach once he's done his badges, that ties in with the rumoured 18 month contract he's been offered

Understand he has finished at Moor Farm and is just checking out Normanton / Pear Tree Roads before making his final decision
