OT Why has the Labour party sold its soul?

Recently they came out and said that they would stand as a remain party and totally ignore the traditional labour voters and appeasing the Islington crowd. After being a life long critic of the EU,Corbyn does a massive U turn, what an hypocrite!!Now,shadow chancellor McDonald comes out and appeals for an alliance with the toxic SNP.Is there no limit to how low they can go, to get into power. This was once a very proud party. No longer!!!

Think this has been hugely covered on the Brexit thread. Why start it again?

The labour party is closer to its original roots right now than it has been for decades.

It'll be nice to see :

    British Gas - one tariff
    British water board
British Rail - one ticket rational
British Coal - Now carbon capture technology has developed
    British Electric - one tariff
    A true -medically lead NHS
A true transport policy - roll on - roll off train / haulage hubs.
    A true social building policy
    British airways
    British telecommunications
    A true Royal Mail

Problem is "Money" would be overseas in minutes because "Money" is raping this country and the tories are supplying the victims.

The public is being ripped off left, right & centre but that's just collateral damage to the rich getting richer. Ho hum.

John Curtice who I trust more than most on polling has highlighted a steady drift to Remain which now stands at 54% to 46% Leave. I don't think all 54% live in Islington and it was noted that 4 Labour seats which voted Leave in 2016 are now Remain. All my family are lifelong Labour voters but if Labour doesn't unequivocally support Remain at the next election all four of us are voting LibDem. This is mirrored in dozens of people we know almost all traditional Northern working class although quite a few are graduates.

McDonnell is a Marxist but these days is sounding more like a Remainer, I think he's just desperate for power, any power.

After over 3 years of relentless anti-Brexit propaganda from the media it isn't surprising that some have gone Remain (Jabba the Hut would call them "weak-minded fools" ) but it's still not a significant number.

The Labour party has sold its soul because it failed to listen see through the divisive, political debilitating equality and diversity movement. On the surface this movement seemed okay but it has robbed the Labour party of its political hostility. Instead of say a million angry workers united by poverty, poor working conditions and a poor hourly rate, it has fragmented the movement into conflicting factions, muslim, ga,y feminist Labour party members are all now trying to push their own micro agenda to the top of the pile.

The Labour party members have failed to see the significance of the fact that the Tories also promote equality and diversity. Of course they would....seeing the once threatening Labour movement fragment and turn in on itself.

Also a trade unionist I once knew predicted the gentrification of the Labour Party. He said people who are not poor will join the party to promote their own micro agenda. They want gay rights but they don't want to get involved in a class war because they are comfortably off. He also said, if people are well off they become more tolerant. Pay people a decent wage and they become less homophobic, less racist and more tolerant. In other words focus on improving the lives off the poor and the equality and diversity issues will sort themselves out. The Labour party has now put the horse before the cart.

Unfortunately Socialists cannot see that their equality and diversity ideology is destroying the Labour Party. It has now become middle class, toothless and ineffective. Labour party has let down the working class. Left 'em too dangle.

Sadly ALL GOOD DEBATE neutered by what the MEDIA transmits.

First job of the revolutionary movement - gain control of TV & RADIO. The rest is history.
