    Next up - Celtic

Motherwell host Celtic for the first home league match of the season at noon on Saturday. The visitors may be clear favourites but the record shows the last three meetings at Fir Park have resulted in a share of the points. - External Link

That's true but the draw at FP last season was one of the luckiest points I've ever seen us pick up as we were chasing shadows for 89 minutes. We won't get away with that again though and a sound beating is on the cards here, as we have no midfield and no goal threat.

Anything from a three to five - nil defeat.

Stand off of Celtic and they will no doubt destroy us. But get in their faces with a belief we can get something out of the game then who knows. Having seen a couple of their games there is no doubt that they are suspect at the back line to any team with a bit of pace. IMO would rather lose having a go than playing everyone behind the ball only to lose a goal in the 90th minute

Correct, got have a go at them with our pace up front and get a wee rub of the green. Best form of defence is ATTACK....let's get into them

Apologies to texacocup & markymark. I managed to delete a few posts in error as I attempted to fix the thread title.

As ever we're massive underdogs and a point would be a massive bonus. You never know.

These games as far as i'm concerned is a free hit, we lose, take it on the chin and move on, we didn't expect a win anyway. We win and it's f***** blast off. Get stuck in, get the ball to our wide players and attack the flanks, that's where I think they are at they're weakest.....Mon the Well.

This is actually as near to a perfect time to play them as we can get.

They're just back from Romania, they still have work to do in the CL qualifier next week, their new players haven't settled in yet and their squad isn't at full strength so far ahead of the transfer deadline.

Sadly we often seem to do better against them (and their mates across Glasgow) when we are completely written off. All of these dubious reasons for optimism usually add up to one thing, a total pumping.

Couple of pacy wide men to stretch their suspect defence, some decent balls into the box and take it from there. COYW
