    Short sighted by Gayle.

He owed us after the Villa sending off.

I see this being revisited in January but I must admit he’s gone down in my estimation after this.

Perhaps with Carroll signed today and knowing his injury issues...the lad thinks he might have a chance of first team football after all...Think he may have made a smart decision myself...

Absolutely Mick I'm a massive fan of his last season but also gone down in my opinion especially where I read somewhere tonight he may have chosen stoke over us . I will not say anything bad about him tho . But we have Austin now who in MY OPINION is a better all round player IF he stays FIT ?

Would agree with you Johnny. Austin if he stays fit will be more of a goal threat than Gayle. I know a lot of Newcastle supporters due to work and they just do not rate Gayle as a Premier League player!

Sadly, not many players are interested in the badge! That’s why it’s so refreshing that Sawyers is making all the right noises - believe me he will be our most important player too!!

Maybe Gayle wasn't happy with Downings comments at the end of the season stating he was to expensive and we wouldn't be signing him, not sure why people are slagging him he did a great job for us last season but that's gone now, it's time to get behind All our new players and hopefully we can have an entertaining and exciting season.

I am not going to knock Gayle, he did well for us last season despite being played out of position by a thicko. He seems a level headed guy. But he is a pro footballer not an Albion fan.
If you are offered first team football in the worlds best league in front of 52,000 every week or go on loan to a championship club?
    Come on chaps, be realistic.
Gayle isn't our player anymore, he never was, let's get behind the team we have.

You never know the reasons. If he comes to us in January he will be a great addition.

100% agree Des and who can blame him, Newcastle supporters think he’s not a Premier player but he did a better job for me than Rondon. I hope he fights for his place there but Newcastle need a striker who can hold the ball up and out muscle defenders so can see Carroll doing better if fit.

Darren Moore will be found out at Doncaster. There were a lot of thick decisions but playing Gayle on the wing was incredibly stupid and topped it!

The reason he didn't join us he wanted a permanent deal he didn't want to go on loan again we've got to forget him now and move on
