Perhaps had super Shan recognised Ferguson and used Edwards more then these players would be better prospects than they are already. What about Field being left out to dry - mark my words he will come good!

More passion in Bilics toe nail than both these numpties put together!

Had Jimmy Shan stayed - I would have permanently stayed away. Bet Bilic would have loved Gayle, Dawson and Jay Rod!!!!

Personally glad we are out of a crap cup competition!! Jimmy Shan - ha ha ha

Judge - Bilic after 12 games and then factor where the goals are coming from!! Hardly his fault is it......
The lack of goals under Bilic is as much his fault, the same way you blame Shan for players getting themselves sent off hardly his fault was it....

What worries me is that both games, with mostly different players on both sides, followed the same pattern. We control the game, go ahead, they equalise and the game changes. Is it a mental problem. Probably not. Basically poor defending from set pieces and then lack of ideas to break the opposition defence down. Let's face it, we're going to play much stiffer sides than Millwall in the future. We have to sort out our defending as it is poor at present when put under pressure. The return of Hegazi will be most welcome!

We seem to have a lot of players now all of the same type,

    Pereira
    Edwards
    Willock
    Diagana
    Krovinovic

All have a nice first touch, great pace, beat the first man and then offer absolutely nothing!

We wither on the vine as soon as we’re 25 yards from goal.

There’s no devilment, not enough drive into the box......too much laying it off square.

For me the best attacking player on show was Furlong and he was the only one to constantly get in behind them.

What a waste of space Burke is though.....pound for pound our worst ever signing and on a par with Paul Groves,Craig Shakespeare,Matt Carbon,Luke Moore and Borja Valero in terms of being top price for us at that juncture of our history and being a total bust.

This bloke is a fraud.....stealing a wage,we need rid quickly.

We look so comfortable in possession,we just need to defend better from crosses and find someone to play the number ten role to link with Austin.
Good post Mickd that's more or less as I seen it Saturday , nice on the ball but toothless up front without Austin were up the river mate won't take long for teams to fathom us out , 3 games gone unfortunately another long hard season ahead , & wait till till certain player start playing the injury card . Phillip's already started after one & a half games its ironic that players that left the club we needed & some of the players that we have now should have been long gone I suppose that's football

How many goals did Gayle and Jay Rod get and both are in the Premier League. We now have what appears to be a misfit from Cardiff, and a player who could not get in the Southampton team who gets injured a lot. Some difference - is this Bilac's fault?

Bit like saying it's credit to Dean Smith the Vile have spent 130 million. Comes back to owner, board and recruitment.

Nobody sacks a manager and replaces them with a coach with no experience with a first team! Even Worcester City would not do that!

I am confident Bilic will get it right and West Brom are lucky he's there. Remind me - which other team at championship level has recruited one of the two numpties - why? Whilst its the players who get involved in the incidents, it's down to any manager to install discipline in cooker like environments.

We have the makings of a good team albeit very short in the clinical striker front! I am still positive we will come good but the goals are the biggest worry, hence such as shame Gayle is not back again!!

Mickd’s point is what I raised in the earlier post ‘Our best starting X1’. For me we have got far too many wide men all going for the same role and we are unbalanced. Cloughie used to say you need a strong spine to the team to be successful and for me that is where we are weak at the moment.

    Goalie - ?
Centre back - ? Except for Hegazi
Central midfield - ? Some potential
Centre forward - ? Fitness ? And no cover

Many options wide out both defensively and offensively but a waste of time if the spine is your weak area.

Shan wouldn't have attracted the same players though.
You could also argue that he had £30m worth of talent at his disposal, which Bilic doesn't in Dawson, Gayle and JRod and still couldn't get past the Villa over 2 legs. Mainly due to parking the bus in the first leg when they were there for the taking.

It was Darren Moore's rot that Shan put a stop to, how you can tie them together is beyond me.
Didn't Shan do that against the Villa in the play offs?

Well said Whicka! You are 100% spot on. I certainly have enjoyed the first two league games albeit appreciated it's been almost a complete new team and we are without Gayle. I did not appreciate parking the bus against a poor Vile team and wasting time in the first half!

Bilic has a mountain to climb but feel more positive with him at the helm than for a long time! It won't happen overnight though....

Whicka my post to Dubbag was in reply to giving managers/coaches a chance, I wasn't advocating that Shan be manager/coach at this time. I will give Bilic the same time as most people gave Shan which was maybe a couple of games, even though he had stopped the rot of Darren Moore's creation. Once again I reiterate that I am firmly a Nigel Pearson/Craig Shakespeare combination as the best possible management team for West Brom. It just got up my nose that posters were willing to give Bilic a chance and not one of our own in a much more serious situation. The reply to Dubbag got knocked right out of context with the diatribe from Baggieal, a big mistake by me to answer it.

Diatribe is the in word on this site at the moment!!! Giving a Bilic the same time as most people gave Shan - is that not petty and what a young kid would say?

Shan went to a poor Vile and parked the bus and we time wasted even in the first half!! Nothing against Shan as he did a OK job but he was never the experienced replacement we needed. Anybody including Doris the tea lady would have been an improvement on DM with that team including Gayle and Jay Rod.

So you are giving Bilic the same chance with a whole new team - no Gayle - no Jay Rod and no Dawson and a much thinner squad! Are you for real!

As for one of our own - that saying is bollox. I would rather have a female player or a player from Iran if they were better than one of our own! Ruthless decisions need to be made and Bilic did that by subbing Zahore just after half time. Can you imagine our Jimmy or Darren subbing Brunty or Jake ( God forbid ) just after half time.

Bilic with a whole new team almost and NO Gayle has a mountain to climb but many remain positive that at last - we have a real manager!
