    Exclamation Strikers

How many of you remember Percy Freeman, if my memory serves me correct he was also a nightclub bouncer in his spare time

I do indeed. Must have been the late '60s/early '70s. He played mainly for the reserves, but managed a handful of first team appearances. He was a big b*gg*r, and his trademark was charging through the middle of the field in a straight line, scattering defenders like a bowling ball in a skittle alley.

Have to admit, he's one I have no recollection of.

I think he worked as a lorry driver at some point.

I remember him well which is quite odd as he only played two first team games for us and was with the club from 1968 to 1970. He went to Lincoln where he scored 64 league goals in 152 appearances. He had a fairly productive spell at Reading as well.13 goals in 57 appearances.
I say odd because we left the area in 1966 so after then I didn't get to go to reserve games any more so I can only have seen him twice, 3 times as I think he played for Lincoln against us in the F.A.Cup in 1976.
I think his real name was Peter.
