Cheers Gav. Following the goal I thought the VAR would be looking at the position of Jiminez and Jota [especially Jiminez] who were both in an offside position and possibly blocking De Gea's view of the ball. Didn't even think about offside!

Freeze the playback at 2:13 and take a look.

At the game and behind the goal i only see it once. But with VAR checking over and over, i just think from De Gea's starting position he can see the ball clearly. It's a rule that provides debate over and over regarding interfering with play.

The VAR assessment was about the pass from Jota to Moutinho... I didn’t look beyond that, but we’ll spotted, while Jimenez is offside he doesn’t obstruct De Geas view in my opinion.
