Surprise surprise he is left on the bench yet again today, what a total waste of time

Still not getting a lot of game time. He's 20 now, should be getting a few minutes with us rather than bloody Carlisle.

    Is he 20???

Hadn't realised. Maybe he'll be a late developer. Mind, much as i'd like to see him here, Hughie, we've already got a lower league coaching team so he might as well stay there. If he played for us he'd probably go backwards as the ball would just be lumped forward to him just as it is for our current strikers.

I agree with all of that, Zip.

Thing is, he was developing and then sent on some horrible loan spells (not Bruce's fault). So I'm thinking that getting 10 minutes for Carlisle compared to getting a few minutes in the Cup or even in the PL for us, the latter is preferred. You're absolutely right that the coaching level is probably about the same and that tactically he would gain very little under SB.

The frustrating thing remains that we cannot seem to bring enough of our youth players up to the first team. Longstaff and Dummett have done well, maybe Matty is coming along (I'm unsure about him) - anybody else looking to make the step up at the moment?

We have a real bottle neck at the minute and for last few years of getting players over that last hurdle into the first team and doing well.

If the fat **** didn't want to spend huge transfer sums then he should be focusing on our youth instead.

Left on the bench yet again today. 15 minutes left and he still isnt brought on, We need to bring him back and let him get his confidence back in the reserves.

100% agree what’s the point of the lad bench warming at Carlisle he would be better off playing for the reserves.
