When Buttler went I honestly believed it was game over. Odds on an England win at that point must have been very good!

Petition to rename the city of Stoke to Stokes should be started any time now.

Stokes 10/10 there but a special mention for Leach he played very well only one run scored but he had some brains.

Brilliant effort by Ben Stokes (and Leach) and the Ashes is alive.

I still say the England batsmen need to learn to play Test cricket rather than rounders, because with any sort of decent score in the first innings they would have won this game comfortably, but if you have to slug your way out of trouble to get an amazing result, Stokes is clearly the man, as he was in the World Cup.

True, and another point worth raising is the way Stokes managed to monopolise the strike when the Aussies were doing their best to keep him at the other end. Their match-winning partnership lasted 62 balls and Leach only had to face 17 of them. Even then Leach showed the so-called 'specialist' batsmen that you can keep your wicket intact if you don't play silly strokes.

Excellent point about Leach. If I was at home I would have been hiding behind the curtains.

Even though it only lasts 33 seconds, this is a brilliant clip from the BBC showing the winning hit. The last bit of it shows that Stokes is celebrating the moment marginally before the spectators realise what is happening!
