    Cock Up by Cocu?

Well Cocu has gone down in my estimation, maybe the League Cup isn't a priority but beating ones rivals is, it keeps the fans on your side and installs a winning feeling, Lampard did at least take this competition seriously and its a competition that a club like Derby can as we have done at least reach the semi finals or with luck the final.

Given the team hasn't exactly shone lately, I'd have thought they would be told to go out and give Forest a good game and get back to winning ways.

But no we field a very week team, 10 ****ing changes and get thrashed! I could be wrong but I can't see us being more than mid table this season, we do not have the ability to score enough goals.

In fact I will nail my colours to the mast and say that Cocu will be gone before the season end as we drift into mid table obscurity!

We agree on something else.. Disgusting from Cocu.
We need some confidence in the first 11.. When does making 10 changes EVER work. Shambles.
Achieved absolutely nothing bu doing that. And before anyone gives me resting players, feck off.

    Agree with both posters.
Having selected Bennett to lead the line, with consequent lack of impact, I am beginning to doubt Cocu's judgement of players. He gave Josefzoon multiple chances when we already knew he was crap.
Our weakness is especially in midfield yet he seems reluctant to play Bielik outside the back four.
    I fear the worst.

The only remaining player from the WBA game was Buchanan, an 18 year old left back who, under normal circumstances, would have been 4th choice just 3 or 4 weeks ago behind Fozzy, Malone and Lowe. Fozzy not fit, Malone off form and Lowe curently our 1st choice available right back.

Of the XI I think he will also be the only one who starts at Brentford.

Suppose I’d better get my tin hat but, imo, there’s a huge overreaction here from people who should know better.
Never nice to lose against one’s biggest rivals I know, but it’s the Carabao Cup...that’s all.
Okay we won’t have our lovely little adventures at Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge to look forward to this season, but then didn’t the Chelsea escapade last season cost us Mount - and probably quite a number of much needed league points and form - last season?
Far from being ‘disgusting’ or ‘going down in my estimation’ I think Cocu has acted like a professional and a grown up.
He picked the kids in the previous round and he stuck with them last night...that’s the way the likes of Klopp goes about things - selecting and targeting the season’s priorities - and he knows a thing or two.
As for suggesting ‘Cocu will be gone before the season end as we drift into mid table obscurity’ on the back of our reserves and youngsters coming unstuck at Forest in August...you’re much more sensible than that Swale.

With respect we are not Liverpool and Cocu isn't Klopp! If my team was challenging for the premier league title and the Champions league then I may just agree that that a lesser cup competition one could play the youngsters (not forgetting of course that Liverpoll u21's could well thrash our first team, so the analogy is flawed.)

I'm saying that on the back of our toothless displays in front of goal in league matches, not on the basis of last nights game. We may as well just abandon all cup ties then! I remember when cup games were ones to look forward to, now it seems nothing but the league matters, how many ****ing seasons have we been trying to do that?

But against our bitter rivals? Would Klopp field a weakened team against Everton, knowing what it meant to the fans? Part of a managers jobs is surely understanding the pysche of the fans of the club and its history and a big part of that is knowing that whatever happens beating Forest is a big deal amongst Derby fans.

Of course if we finish in the top 6 or (unlikely) get promotion then he will be forgiven, but its a big IF and my concern is where exactly are the goals going to come from, Waghorn can't and wont deliver every game and I see nobody else who can.

    What bollx..
Only the Carabao Cup !!! It's a competitive football match for a PROFESSIONAL football team FFS. I had a look in the trophy cabinet and there ain't much in there. Chelsea cost us Mount.. Try telling Mason not to play in that. When do we start 'resting' players when we play teams in the bottom three? It's only (add name here).. Arrogance of the highest order, who do we think we are. Let's have it right, we are nobody, just little old Derby County. Nothing special. What about the 3000 people who went last night and where hugely disrespected by DCFC?
When did this become acceptable in football? When did we allow it to become acceptable.
10 changes is ridiculous. Still it's only the Carabao Cup, that's okay then. We can pick and choose when we play and when we don't.
The best thing with Lampard was his approach to any competitive fixture.
The after match interview was shocking as well. Talked like we don't know football.

Still Brentford Saturday, perhaps he is looking at the U18s. Hopefully Morris took him to one side and said. You do that again and you're gone.

    God I hate modern football.

RA sorry mate I disagree with every word of that Firstly discount getting injured 73% f injuries occur at training sessions Its August we've played 5games why the hell do you need to rest players. If we have a midweek league game ,which happens most week you don't make 10changes Last night is not acceptable fans have to pay They don't it you in for free because we choose to play kids Its a total insult to the competition the fans the club and even the youngsters who played Playing Brentford on Saturday has absolutely nothing to do with it . Cocu and his staff knew playing kids got them of the hook Well I'm just one of hundreds who don't except his tactics
