O/T:- Who needs Parliament?

Correct ........ Not one political reporter can hold a candle to Andrew Neil. Look carefully if he's presenting any political programme with these others in attendance and they don't chirp in until asked ......... mere apprentices compared to Andrew.

Personally, for what it's worth, I'd like our destiny to be in the hands of the electorate in a confirmatory referendum now that everyone knows so much more than they did in 2016. The elephant in the room for Boris and Co. is that they know the country would change it's mind completely, making the last 3 and a quarter years a meaningless waste of time and emotion.

Nonsense Swale. Rightly or wrongly a vote was held wasn't it? We were all told the vote would be implemented were we not? Did not Parliament overwhelmingly vote to trigger Article 50 and get it sorted by March 31st? All this so called "confirmatory" / "peoples" vote is really saying lets have another referendum isn't it? You are correct that the last three years have been a meaningless waste of time, mostly brought on by continued objections by weak politicians. May was an atrocious weak PM trying to be a "goody goody" person and appease everybody ..... and rightly failed. Call Boris what you want but what he's done in a few short months is remarkable. If he gets his deal signed off this week he will be classed as a true leader despite everything being thrown against him, and I mean everything, over the past two or three months. If he fails ... and this is the crunch, he will get his GE (which he wants)and absolutely walk it ....... you wait and see. Corbyn's front bench plebs are a national disgrace to any moderate Labour supporter and will be destroyed once and for all.

That would possibly be as bad as the current no-hopers. That's why I prefer the addition of a bit of EU common sense.

Little of which pertains to or affects my point that a confirmatory referendum would, almost undoubtedly, reverse said 2016 result. That's not a political point-scoring statement, simply the actual situation as it stands outside the exalted bubble of the chambers of Parliament. I'm puzzled that you consider it nonsense, to be honest.
