    On a pay as you play deal or a low wage like Alan Smith had I'd say absolutely, other than that, no thanks

    Has he even played a game recently? Wasn't he at Rotherham about 18 months ago?

    Still only 33...if he were fit he'd be great.

    You can't just write these older players off because many of them have a lot to offer to clubs like ours. Without going through the entire list, look at - Stanley Mathews who was playing top level football at the age of 50, then you've got Bobby Charlton, Tom Finney, etc., etc., OK these were our "greats" but there are plenty of others, unknowns maybe, out there who are still playing into their forties.
