Anyway, - let's draw a line under things and trust that it was a one off and a very bad day at the office.
I certainly hope so too Jardi but I'm sure that a lot of people thought the same about bad days at the office at the start of Naysmith's poor run last season and that turned into a bad 4 months at the office. There just doesn't seem to be a spark about the team, maybe missing a character like Doyle in the dressing room, someone to lighten the mood and get the players enjoying playing.

We employed the same frustrating tactic last season Albertz but at least we had a target man in Dykes to aim at, we didn't have anyone like that starting v Ayr or Alloa yet still persisted with it (and at goalkicks also) We still give away too much possession too easily from our kick-offs and goal-kicks though.

There were 3 key style of players missing from the team on Saturday: Jacobs midfield fight, Doyle's versatility and effort and Dykes workmanship and aerial presence towards the front.

Let's just hope it was a blip and the squad getting used to the pitch.

Definitely think it's a weaker squad than last season by some margin.

There’s absolutely no doubt this side is weaker than last season but in saying that we’ve some decent players here and the 1st half performance at Ayr showed you what we’re capable of. We just need time for the players to gel and start taking our chances. I’m putting Saturday’s performance down to a bad day at the office , the wind and that awful pitch.
It’s time to rip it up and bring back the grass. The management team hate it , the players hate it and the supporters hate it.

I reckon Josh Todd is the biggest miss of all.
