Thread: Anyone think we have the championship won?

Anyone think we have the championship won?

I'll start, categorically NO. The only people I've seen actually saying this are fun fans and they have a lot of previous for talking pish.

The media may be coming out with pish but there is not one person connected with United saying anything like this. Not players, coaches, board and especially not supporters. Maybe April would be a better time to start having this discussion.

After the last few seasons I would be amazed if any utd fan would think that way after 20 games let alone 4. Things change in the blink of an eye. Players get injured, suspended,go off the boil or just plain bad luck/rotten refereeing means you loose games. We should take each game as it comes but keep the tempo up right from each kick off. Think its important to not overreact when the first setback comes. Its a great start. Nothing more

The only people who think we have this won already are The Fun and journalists!

It is a fantastic start and probably beyond every Arabs dreams, but Siegrist could have a relapse, Connolly or Butcher a rash challenge and we are heading for trouble. There is also the winter stumbles to get past! I also think we are 2 players shy of a full squad.

Connolly was all over the place last night and could have conceded 2 penalties, honestly i have nothing against the guy but as long as he is at the heart of our defence the league is anything but won.Our next league game is a very difficult trip to 2nd placed Ayr and i am not looking any further than that.

I would further add that even though we won 6-2 last night the next derby at Dens is anything but a formality,FACT.

Agreed. Connolly for me is our weak link. I'm not Butcher 's biggest fan as a midfielder but surely the CH position is his to lose now.

Brilliant start for us but it would be folly to think the league is won. Dundee still the only team that can stop us winning it imo.

Only someone like Jim Spence would be daft enough to predict the league is won after 4 games. We just have to take it game by game, keep attacking teams, because our strength is in attacking and not defending. Get as many points on the board, and react the right way when we drop/lose pts.

I agree the defence looks much better with Butcher in place of Connolly (his injury prob helped us), it doesn't convince with Connolly and Reynolds, and the squad ideally still needs strengthening in a couple of positions.

Think Siegrist is still has potential to lose us goals from crosses, Butcher or Shankland could get serious injuries, the daft new hand rule could lose you a game out of nothing, Aperre unlikely to maintain his current form throughout the season. Get the first quarter of fixtures out the way and we might have a better idea how the league is going to shape up, who the likely challengers might be, Partick Thistle and Dunfermline might turn out to be bottom 3 teams for all we know. I also think the standard between the bottom team to the top wont be huge so you could be as likely to drop points at alloa as inverness
