Thread: Female commentators

    Female commentators

Watched Leicester v Bournemouth and in all honesty wanted to find fault.
But couldn’t. Unlike many of the male counterparts she commented on what she saw while some of these guys want to tell us whose playing well etc
Nothing pisses me off more than listening to some guy who is no more qualified than me to give an opinion. BBC and BT Scotland in particular.
I don’t like the PC stuff going on but well done to whoever she was.
Although I’m not qualified to have an opinion.

Anything is better than Dan O'Hagan. Worst commentator ever!

Watch it back and listen to her.

Now this isn't me picking on her because she's a woman, because loads of male commentators do the same she used the phrase "Just about" twice and wrong both times.

"He just about keeps the ball in" No he didn't just about do it, he did keep it in.

at the Leicester 2nd goal "He just about puts it in/gets in over the line" If he just about scored, he didn't score.

The use of "Just about!" by commentators has been a bugbear of mine for years.

Why would you watch something wanting to find fault? I'd rather be happy and enjoy things

Correct. Surely they could have mustered a panel of ex Arabs and Dees? Or were they there so they could crack on talking about Sunday’s match instead? Again, in a nutshell everything that’s wrong about football in Scotland.

    Good point.
I’d had a couple and didn’t pick up on that at the time.
You’re right about how annoying it is.
