Unless it's just to read out the traditional, hours-before-the-deadline " Couldn't get the deals over the line/We will learn from our mistakes" official RUFC statement... but let's hope not

Bolton Wanderers have signed Belgian winger Thibaud Verlinden from Stoke City and Nottingham Forest midfielder Liam Bridcutt on loan until January.

Sunderland have signed Leeds United left-back Laurens De Bock on loan until the end of the season.

Lincoln City have signed Southampton midfielder Jake Hesketh on loan for the rest of the League One campaign.

Accrington Stanley have signed ****age striker Connor Simpson on a season-long loan from neighbours Preston North End.

League One side Wycombe Wanderers have signed forward Rolando Aarons on loan from Newcastle United until 13 January.

Bridcutt could be a good signing for Bolton - are we happy if nothing else happens for us today? Would like more cover at RB though we may have enough now to make a go of it - not sure we've enough yet to go for promotion though

Bolton should have had an embargo slapped on them. So what I feared would happen is happening now. Everyone has whooped them apart from one team. Those teams have had an unfair advantage. Any new signings should be barred from playing until the end of January. That way everyone has the chance to play the weakened team thus no unfair advantage for anyone.
