Well we will no doubt get another chump.

    January thoughts:

Gallagher - loan expiring will we get him on loan/permanent. no rush at the moment lets see how things play out. Would seem a no brainer for us to be interested as he's only on around £50k/year (MLS salary info is open info)

Leigh - we could think about invoking our buy clause. The signs are good so far.

McKenna - we should be marketing him to epl and championship clubs. Hopefully he is fit to play the four internationals (Oct-Nov). We'll need to start thinking about a replacement. Hoban? Kerr?

Gleeson - He'll be doing well to still be here come February

Cosgrove - If he keeps the scoring up then £3.5m please. Off to the championship you go

Jon Gallagher is on a $70k base salary, but also gets a $70k compensation payment, so about $140k or just short of £120k a year.

We will probably release Wilson in January as McInnes will realise he doesn’t need him. He might get replaced by a big lump.
If Considine signs any further extension I am personally going to take a hit out on him and McInnes.

Considine’s probably been the most consistent , solid performer so far this season. Possible exception to that’d be Joe Lewis , but none of the other outfield players.

What a load of rubbish...Joe Lewis hasn’t exactly been of great presence either.
If anyone deserves credit this season it is Sam Cosgrove...without him scoring we would be absolutely abysmal.

That’s a good point. Not so long ago, one goal would be enough to win. That doesn’t sound too great as we should be pressing on and scoring more but we have become too easy to score against.

    Excellent intervention Crvena Zvezda.

    Keep it up.

The Considine debate does the rounds on here every few months, and has done for the best part of a decade on these forums all in.

He goes through phases when he's fine, and he goes through periods when he's honking, but it was proven conclusively first in circa 2007, and then again regularly since then, that if you play Considine for a sustained period of time at centre back then the team's results falter.

The argument from his supporters is that he is better at centre back than at left back. Whether or not that is true (and I disagree) is moot, because he's fundamentally not good enough for our club at centre back if we are serious about actually winning things.

It's been that way for more than 10 years and it hasn't changed.

He is one of these players that is a useful back-up option - someone who can fill in when there's a short-term injury or suspension to a first teamer, but the fact some fans see him as a starter in central defence despite the weight of evidence over the long term against that view continues to stagger me to this day.

We can and must do better.
