Not even a hint that he might have any responsibility. What he says about the performance is spot on but he sat and watched that unravel in the 2nd half and did absolutely nothing to change things until we were 3-2 down and Clyde had all the momentum. I'm a fan of AJ but it was crying out for some changes 2nd half. Really poor stuff.
Also the fact that only one sub was utilised also.
Alan Johnson has created Dunfermline mark 2 at Palmerston this year, - knowing that Dunfermline mark 1 didn't work last year. This is extremely worrying. Normally when someone hits their head off a brick wall they tend not to do it again.
Success in the Championship is down to graft for 90 minutes every week. Livingston proved it last season and were promoted. Alloa proved it last week at Palmerston and then yesterday Queens sat back and were punished.
We may have good, technical players on the park AJ, - but if they are not fully fit and willing to graft for the 90 minutes we will be punished.
Queens are really missing Doyle, Marshall and Dykes who were the grafters last season. If we can't get a grafter or two in midfield, - then the rest of the team are really going to have to pull up their socks big time.
I was prepared to let last week go as a bad day at the office, - but no business can survive if the personnel are not willing to put in the work.
Yep yesterday was absolutely unacceptable. It's all very well Johnston going on that we could/should have had the game won first half. We didn't do so and he sat and watched the game unravel from our point of view and seemed either unwilling or unable to try to change things. Dreadful day all round. It's a chilling that that last season's side had a far better worth ethic than this one seems to have and that side were very very close to going down.
Agree that a substitution should have been made earlier when the first signs we were losing the midfield became apparent. Hamilton was the right man to bring on and Paton the right one to be hooked but who else from the bench could have influenced the game? I'm glad Gary Oliver wasn't risked in this match if he's still not 100% fit. I doubt if Kidd could have had any positive effect on the outcome.
Sound points Jardi and the squad need to get back to the basics grafting out results especially as Dobbie is going through one of those spells when his shooting is not up to his usual impeccable standards. When the maestro dies up then so do the results as other do not really step up to the mark often enough as was clearly the case towards the end of last season as well.
Rumours that the manager and his assistant aren’t the most likeable of people. My Dunfermline friends across the bridge have also confirmed this.
I still reckon Josh Todd is a really big miss for Queens....
