    If I were an apprentice at a club not getting a game on a Saturday I'd ask for a loan. Whether you're Jack Grealish at a Premier League club or Pierce Bird at Notts, you won't get better just from training. You need competitive matches against fully grown men where winning is everything.
    You may fail but at least you'll have given it a real go rather than marking time in the nether lands of development squads into your twenties.
