I'm pleased for him. He got a bit of criticism a couple of years ago for his off the field exploits but he's clearly come through that and looks set to fulfil his considerable potential. I also think he did himself immense credit with his (lack of) reaction to that Birmingham City thug running onto the pitch and attacking him last season. Absolute disgrace that was. If I were an apprentice at a club not getting a game on a Saturday I'd ask for a loan. Whether you're Jack Grealish at a Premier League club or Pierce Bird at Notts, you won't get better just from training. You need competitive matches against fully grown men where winning is everything.
You may fail but at least you'll have given it a real go rather than marking time in the nether lands of development squads into your twenties.
