    True, false, bit of both

Glad to see the back of some of the dross we acquired couple of seasons ago, but the point in the article about opportunity in the 1st team for Academy products has some validity, doesn't it?

Shaugnessy looked a liability every time he played. I was a better player than Anita, who has never had any business on a football pitch. Regarding Nicell (whom i confess not knowing too much about) if the lad is half decent, but we have a queue of players in his position who are better in front of him, then the club must be commended. The fact that some of our first team get run outs in the u23s surely is a good thing that gives our youth valuable experience playing alongside quality and ensures the seamless transition when making the step up.
We are a club that always gives the youth a chance, good luck to the lad, but the article doesnt stand up IMO.

Agree with Blanco. Sounds like a non story to fill pages for a website.

If he was good enough he would be in the team. Of the youngsters, Phillips is playing there in midfield and Klich and Forshaw are both playing well. Behind them Shackleton, Bogusz, McAlmont, Stevens and Gotts to name a few are pushing for a spot. I think it is more a sign that Youth system is working well and that Orta, Corboran and MB have got the youth system aligned to the first team.

If he has no chance of breaking through here good luck to him that he wants to push for a first team place.
