Good points there, though a strong run in is critical, momentum is everything
In past seasons you'd always take grabbing a lower play off place with a strong finish over a poor run-in in which you miss out on auto and finish 3rd or 4th. Home in the semi-final 2nd leg wasn't a massive advantage (as we found out v Cov), being in form with momentum was.
That doesn't apply to this league though unless you're better away (which we aren't). It does make for a whole different dynamic.

Cheers MM. Regardless of the defeat yesterday you can now see a few of the teams that looked like they could threaten are actually starting to drop off the pace a little. Add to that Yeovil in a poor run of form and Harrogate showing they can still lose to anyone (like Notts) it starts to look a little better.
I still think we have enough to finish 5th which would see us at home in the first play off game which is the least we should hope for.

Their goals against average of 1.69 is between what ours and Macc Town's was last season and the 4th worst in this league this season, so we ought to score.
Apart from us at their place, Chesterfield haven't beaten anybody higher than 14th.

Can’t see the point of this thread - we are only as good as the last game - we don’t really have long spells of good or bad form, we are just an average team that never knows whether or not it will win or lose the next game!!
