Botham & Gowers last stint in the commentary box. Let's say a big welcome to our new pundit, Alex Scott. We've gotta score a lot of runs then bowl them out for less. Thanks for that wonderful insight Alex.

Have you got that right, navy? If my memory serves me correctly, Alex Scott played for Arsenal and commentates on Football. What's she doing commentating on cricket?

It was tongue in cheek mate. In saying that it wouldn't surprise me, every time I turn the tele she's there.

Mind, I'd sooner watch her than Clare Balding!

Great series and I would just like to say thank you to Tim Paine for winning the toss and electing to bowl at the Oval.

I've been watching first class cricket for fifty years, and I never knew that.

Bottom line ...... all done and dusted, if's and but's don't matter. Any doubts to quote an old adage "Look in the score book".

Some great individual performances by both sides and coupled with the WC win has made it the best summer of cricket I can remember.

For England, yes, but for Notts CCC no. Let’s hope the T20 finals offer some redemption in such an inept season. Quite the achievement to get relegated when only one team goes down.

Be hard-pressed to get a better summer than 1981 for me - unlikeliest of Ashes triumphs, Notts CCC winning the championship with the brilliance of Rice and Hadlee, for the first time since 1929. Oh, and the Pies getting promotion to the top flight for the first time since, I think, 1923.
