Ipswich, Coventry, Sheffield United, QPR, Notts County and Oldham were all in there.
I remeber thinking they were all rubbish teams compared to us, despite being in the lower league.
Little did I know how things would turn out all these years later.
Just about in the top flight but despite all the money the club has made from the prem we are barely ahead of most of those clubs in terms of Infrastructure, youth development and identity.
W have been ruined; robbed of our birth right as Geordies!

This is correct in my mind, I think Teddy scored the first goal in the PL, a few days later he was sold to Spurs and Forest got relegated that season, Cloughie retired, etc.
