    Sporle

Obviously there are a lot of concerns after last night

I don't accept that '3 good games' would include beating League 2 sides that tbf we should take for granted in beating at any time

The idea that we were jaded last night. We are a full time outfit. The East Fife lads are doing their day jobs- they should be more tired and not as fit as we are!!

Main concern though is that it seems our plan for next season is that Sporle is to be our first choice left back.

Robson is good in the left mid position. Other than that we have Booth who is said to be getting moved on.

Can we rely on Sporle??? He has not impressed defensively imo. The first goal last night he looked clueless - he was out of position and rather than try and cover he just drifted and moved towards the East Fife player in the middle leaving the goalscorer unmarked

AM I missing something here or this guy not what we need if we are aiming to win this division

I thought that substitution last night was a complete waste of time. For me I'd have brought Robson on for Banks (who did nothing in the game). I didn't think Sporle did anything wrong (certainly not our worst players) to warrant being hooked.

More generally on Sporle I think he's a very decent left back and I have no problem going into the season with him there.

I think he is here for the future, rather that the now that the fans expect.

There are aspects of his game that i like, especially his ability to put in a decent cross, he is the best LB ive seen who can get into a scoring position, he is capable of running at someone and beating them, but he is here as a defender first and foremost, and his positional sense at the first EF goal last night was woeful, and never once looked round to see the goalscorer running behind him.

Until he can get a grip of the lingo, settled into life in Scotland and decent run of games, i dont think he can be written off just now. Not looking good just now though!

Only seen him for that first 45 at Tynecastle but from what guys are saying it's beginning to look like maybe this was a business deal to establish links with Argentina. But, new club, new culture, new language etc maybe need to wait and see. Just trying to give the lad the benefit of the doubt here, but if he's not doing it after the first 4/5 league games then yes we have a whole new LB problem. Jeez

The EF first goal is my concern.

Totally out of position and no sense he knew how to defend the basics.

Caught out against part timers - will be even more unforgiving against likes of ICT or Partick etc.

Ok going forward but he seems to forget if he is up he needs to burst a gut then to get back in position.

Re Robson above. RN likes to play him forward. Booth has his critics but we need someone who can defend! Booth also capable of the odd screamer

How Robson is still a united player is a joke. he showed wee signs of improvement towards end of the season but he still is nowhere near the level he should be at. shouldnt have been given a 2year deal this time last year by Csaba imo. now weve punted a left back who was steady enough without overly impressing and left us with a foreign Argentine who still cant speak the lingo and has looked shaky in the first few games (not writing him off) and robson who still looks like hes a young boy breaking through when hes played in 1st team for 3years now.

i hope that sporle adjusts quickly and can show some level of consistency

Yeah, I thought he changed the tone of our attacking when he came on, put Arbroath under pressure.
