    Departing from Gaza is two-fold:
    1) You need permission to LEAVE Gaza!
    2) you need permission to ENTER either a) Egypt, or b) Israel.

    Permission to Leave Gaza:

An applicant’s request to leave Gaza must be approved by both Hamas and by the Palestinian Authority. There are many reports of officials from both these bodies demanding large sums of money in exchange for exit permits. Hajer Harb, a Palestinian journalist, published an investigative report that disclosed how Hamas and the Palestinian Authority (PA) were using medical care to blackmail Palestinian patients. Her report exposed how some physicians and Hamas and PA officials were demanding bribes in return for issuing permits to patients to leave the Gaza Strip for medical treatment in Israel, the West Bank and Arab and Western countries. Palestinians Imprison Journalists for Exposing Corruption [A Hamas court sentenced her to six months in prison and a fine.]

In June 2017, Gazan Palestinians were reporting unexplained delays in receiving permits from the PA in Ramallah to leave the Strip for treatment in Israel, Jordan or the West Bank. These testimonies have been reinforced by data received by Physicians for Human Rights-Israel, indicating that the PA Health Ministry has stopped facilitating this treatment for Gazans. According to the data, the PA has delayed issuing payment vouchers for more than 1,600 patients from Gaza, including patients with cancer and heart disease, and children who need treatments unavailable in Gaza. More than 90 percent of patients who asked for these vouchers during the past month are still waiting; of the 120 or so daily requests being submitted to the PA Health Ministry, only around 10 get approved.

These Labour fellows should direct this cause against Hamas ( B T and co) Please do your homework. Every time you post, I edit some truth against this bad dream of yours!!

I know for certain since 1947, the Palestinians have been evicted from their homes, had their land and properties stolen and the remaining few live in a giant concentration camp called Gaza City.

A poll conducted by the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research in Judea and Samaria and the Gaza Strip between June 29 and July 1, 2017 reported that 47% of the residents of the Gaza Strip would emigrate were they given the chance. [Face-to-face interviews were conducted with a random sample of 1,200 adults in 120 residential locations with an error rate of 3%.] Here are just some of the consequences of significant emigration of Palestinians out of the Strip:

Such extreme lack of support for Hamas leadership and management would be devastatingly embarrassing.
The loss of the lucrative businesses of taxes on smuggled merchandise from the illegal tunnels into Egypt, along with the present, ongoing Hamas exit permits (for round-trips) would be a heavy financial blow.
The heavy taxes all the people are required to pay the government is very much needed, especially since Abbas (the Palestinian Authority) has increasingly been cutting off funds to Gaza.
The purpose of Hamas is to the ‘reclaim’ land allegedly belonging to Gazan inhabitants. If the people choose to move away to live in other countries, Hamas loses its reason for being.
Hamas needs its people to supply its fighters. It needs its civilians to shield its fighters.
Hamas needs people to stay in its Gazan refugee camps (even though they are already in their Palestinian homeland!) in order to keep up the flow of money from international organizations for ‘refugees’.
A significant exodus would make it much more difficult to maintain that Palestinians are united behind the inflexible Hamas goal of replacing Israel with an all-Arab country.
A 14 year old Palestinian kid uses a sling-hot to chuck a stone at the IDF and this is the usual type of Israeli "justified reprisal"...

B T : .......''I know for certain since 1947, the Palestinians have been evicted from their homes........""Not true!"

The majority of the Palestinians left because of reasons, fear, of being killed, during fighting that was a daily occurrence, the Arab Radio stations were calling for the Palestinian Arabs to leave Israel, the idea being if all the Arabs leave, then Arab armies would enter and easily take control of Israel. The Arab Liberation Army led by Fawzi al-Qawuqji.

Syria's President Shukri al-Quwatli knew that the Syrian Army was undependable and useless as an instrument of war, therefore, it was much safer for Syria to influence the situation in Palestine by building up a force that was to be paid for and armed by all the Arab League countries. Egypt was to pay for 42% of the costs, Syria and Lebanon 23%, Saudi Arabia 20%, and Iraq the remaining 15%.

On 5 March 1948 Qawuqji returned to Palestine and set his headquarters in the Jaba village between Nablus and Jenin. He also set up a radio station broadcasting propaganda in Hebrew, Arabic and English. He called for the Palestinians to flee out of Israel.

Check photos of Palestinians leaving Israel, 'Palestine Remembers' with their belongings ,no Israeli solders can be seen ,they left as were advised ,or through fear ,that's what people do in times of war!

Shootings happened in my area ,so that the post could not be sent from Nahariya to Haifa, so it was sent by sea ! The letters with the post mark ''From Nahariya to Haifa by sea'' ,are a collectors item.

I will admit in the area near Tel-Aviv, some may have been ordered to leave ,but not in the Galilee and the north
