    Bury FC update

They now won't be allowed back into the Football League for the 2020/21 season. Probably apply to join the National League

Tough on the fans - feel for them

Yes, me too. Always thought it unlikely that they would be allowed into League 2 next season, even though that what Shakers fans were hoping for.

No doubt a bit of self-interest in the voting of some league 2 clubs in that one fewer club will now be relegated.

(There will be one fewer club relegated from league 1 as well but that would have been the case even if Bury had been allowed into League 2 next season)

They might have had a case for getting back in if the same Chairman wasn't still there, the players and staff weren't still owed pay for several months, the club was not still in substantial debt to HMRC amongst others.

What happened to all these parties that were eager to step in, with "genuine" offers, and buy the club at the last possible minute? OK the club is not as attractive to buyers now but without a takeover how are things going to improve?

Clearly Bury fans are upset but what did they expect really?

Why can’t they accept they broke the rule and you can’t just ignore that

Why do some clubs that break the rules get treated differently though Millertop. That's what makes things seen unfair. We should know pal.

The EFL are aware of how much resource each club has to challenge their decisions.
Bolton will have a lot more clout than the likes of Bury and Rotherham.
Yes it's unfair but unfortunately those are the rules that they play by

Correct decision in my opinion. There are better run clubs in the National league who deserve the league position more than Bury.

Another point, will the National league take them? They refused Boston United in similar circumstances a decade or so ago.

You think the same attitude would have been taken if it was Bolton that gone tits up? No chance the EFL Bent over backwards for them still waiting on the punishment for the 2 pp games. EFL look after certain clubs same with the Premier league .
