    The Main Problem

Just thought it would be worth starting a separate thread about the most infuriating signing our club have ever made... Curtis Main. The purpose of this thread is to give everyone an opportunity to attempt to describe how bad he is and to try to put into words their feelings about him. I feel we need to get it out there, as internalising these thoughts could potentially have a seriously damaging impact on our mental health.

    Let me begin...

Curtis Main - a replacement for Stevie May, but 100 times worse. Headless chicken. Brainless, headless, chicken. Charges around like an over-enthusiastic child in a sweety shop, or the preverbial bull in a china shop. Gives away needless free kicks. Gets needlessly sent off. Can't control a football. Looks like a nob. Can't score goals. Tries to con the ref by kicking the ball out of the keepers hands before proceeding to kick it in the goals - runs off celebrating while literally everyone else in the stadium is just thinking "what a ****". Keeps better players with greater potential out of the team, such as Anderson. Is in his mid 20s and has hardly scored any goals in his career despite playing loads of games. Was a rubbish player in a rubbish Motherwell team, but for some reason we signed him as we (presumably) were trying to build a team to compete for trophies. Total waste of a wage. Ridiculous signing.

I’d rather have a 100 Curtis Mains than 1 David Goodwillie

Same bell end signed them both, so there’s your main problem

I honestly thought he would be much better than what he has served up so far. I don’t think we are a club who needed him and in all honesty I think for the benefit of his career he would be better finding another club in January.
Cosgrove got some stick (by myself also) when he first played but I will state that Curtis Main currently couldn’t lace his boots.

I would say the guy who keeps giving the bell end new contracts is the main problem.

    Milne gives McInnes contracts.
    McInnes recruitment is poor.
    His tactics negative.
    There’s the three “main” problems

Yes but if the first one didn’t happen then the other 2 wouldn’t be a problem.

As much as some like to pretend our problems were there long before McInnes set foot in the door and will be there long after he is gone.

    It’s all down to Milne.

One to add to the very top of that list:

Milne has been our chairman for over 20 years.

    Everything flows directly from that.

As for Main, my guess is he’s the modern day version of Kiriakov in that DM signed him on the back of 1 good game - the 3-0 semi where we were horrific more than he was good.

We signed Kiriakov on the back of one decent game against the Geordie wife beater for Famagusta Vs Huns in Europe - that worked well too...

Kiriakov was a Bulgarian international who played in the World Cup. Curtis Main is a clown who looks like he’s never even watched a World Cup.

Main is another of those lazy DM signings
If I was on the board I would want a full written convincing appraisal giving me positive recommendations what would he bring to the club.
Why out of hundreds of available players why should give him a contract ?
What does him bring that others cannot
    What are your expectations scoring wise per season 5 , 10 , 15 ?
Does he have a resale value or is he a depreciating asset
Will he be a mentor for the younger players
Will his signing make a positive impact with the rest of the squad and ultimately will the fanbase be delighted .
    How will he fit in.

I do wonder sometimes how are recruitment is carried out.
He certainly doesn't meet any of the above criteria
Already is a liability and a complete waste of wages

I imagine he was like the vast majority cheap and available, there can be no other reason for bring him to the club
