    Alan Smith went to Man U as they offered the club the most money and it helped stave off ruin. He didn’t really want to but Lorimer and Gray told him not to be stupid and he should go to the best club - either Arsenal or Man U. He is a Leeds supporter and always will be.

    where did I get that from - Peter Lorimer himself the year after Smith left - when I did a free piece of work for him.
