Cambridge is more socialist now than ever. When I was a lad, you could put a conservative poster up, you would be taking a risk now. And by default, socialists want to undermine any government, to replace it with their socialist utopia. I have to laugh at that. The Cambridge spies were upper class English twits, crazy and spoilt.

Cambridge is strange in the sense that Anglia surrounding Cambridge is solid tory, or solid for being free from dictators. When I was a lad there were huge eastern European and Italian communities in Cambridge, now assimilated into the community, and largely gone. That accounted for the tory posters I would think.

Socialism in this country is about upper class Englishness, rich or semi rich, wallowing in their virtue signalling, totally removed from reality, and living in a fantasy world of perfection, in other words a plaything of anarchists, they are stupid, childish, and need a good spanking.

It used to be socialist v Capitalist, Labour v Tory. Now the lines are more blurred, and these last few years have led to more folk not trusting politics and, by extension, politicians at all. I suspect that if you put “none of the above” at the bottom of the ballot-paper it would win.

Can you remember which DNA company you used?

That's true. Politics for me is like front line troops struggling badly against an enemy that cant be defeated. Every force has an equal and opposing force. A tory politician, very tiredly, commented on how the battle rages without end in regards to fundamental beliefs.
Freedom v the beast. If Labour became democratic, I would not bother voting as the rules would be observed, not destroyed, and replaced with lunacy.

Anyway, try Ancestry. You will get more than you think. You will get a global map where your genetic origins are demonstrated across the globe, and some history, and a time scale. For instance there was vast emigration from Slovenia to the Usa in the 19th and 20th century where they worked in big cities on the eastern side in steel, mining and farming. For some reason they never got to the west side. A lot of Americans originate from Slovene stock.

For a bit extra, you can make contact with close relatives you never thought you had, from around the world. My guess is that you are Celtic, with a big dose of Nordic, as well as something more exotic. When the Normans came over, I wonder if you might have some French in you. (snigger). Your bound to have Pict in you, if your genes are about northern Britain. Then again, they may not.
