It will be nice for season ticket holders to sit next to people who have only paid half price to get in.

Empty seats = TV companies less likely to pick a Newcastle home game for live coverage because empty grounds dont sell the model of the "marvellous" Premier League. Therefore less people get to see his tatty advertising so he wont be happy.

Imagine if another 20000 stop going . It's big embarrassment to show the empty seats on sky , added to the revenue loss .
He's trying to fill the seats to take the heat out of the stay away protest by making it impossible to judge just how many are staying away .
Makes you wonder how he has made so many millions because any idiot can see this policy of selling tickets at 50% less is hardly an incentive for people to renew season tickets next season . May as well chuck in your season ticket and buy a 50% off match day ticket .

I agree. He is degrading the value of match day tickets and it goes to show where his priorities lie i.e. with the tv and not the support at the ground. The latter is just decoration around his tatty SD hoardings.

He really is a cheap skate piece of barrow boy trash with no idea of tradition. I hope this plan goes as well as it did for the mackems and blows up in his face.

What ever reason it's done for it proves that those loyal supporters who are staying away have him rattled and the more who do miss, especially the big games, the more it will get to him.

Imagine the embarrassment of being the only home side in the Premiership to show vast empty spaces for one of the biggest visitors of the season.

And the solution by the genius businessman is to cut prices .. Thereby pi$$ing off the 40000 paying full whack to get in ... How the feck did he become so successful .

Bit like the local selling beer to regulars at £5 a pint .. But selling it to everyone else for £2.50 .. Cracking business model that .
