Absolutely this. Queens being knocked out at the first hurdle in all 3 cup competitions this season will have a major affect on our next transfer budget. Surprised the Queens Trust aren’t more involved in the Tanner Fund. Thought this kind of idea would be right up their street...!?!?

Bumped this up to say there's a back page spread in today's Courier about the Tanner Fund. It seems to be doing OK but more pledges are obviously welcome.

The article doesn't give any numbers but says the initial response has been good but need more people to sign up. They have a Committee in place now and welcome pledges from £1 a month up to whatever people can afford. Mark Blount says the BoD are looking forward to liaising with the Tanner Fund Committee. More details on Facebook probably but I'm not on that.

yea i think this tanner fund will take off at some point ,there will be alot of fans wanting to sit on the fence waiting to see the outcome of the first investment in a player "ie the quality off "and if thayv noticed its made a difference to queens starting 11 (in a good way) then i can see fans investing in numbers ,if theres such a thing as a good way or bad way id say the bad way would be seeing it invested in keeping a player that is already on the books as i see that as the clubs responsibility ,id defo be looking to see if its ivested in bringing in a bit of new blood quality that the club otherwise couldnt afford to pay for .

As has already been mentioned elsewhere these type of supporter funds work brilliantly at other clubs so don’t see why it can’t work at Queens. I’ve started paying a monthly contribution and I’m also helping out promoting the QTF.
Just like to thank all those who’ve already signed up and it would be great if more fans got involved. Every penny will go towards extra funds for the manager to use and we need to trust his judgement.
Only those who make a contribution will know exactly what’s in the fund.

We definitely need more pledges but that’ll will take time. I spoke to the guys at Ayr United ( AU500 fund ) and they started with approx 30 regular contributors but now have 150. The difference their money has made over the last few years has been massive for them. They helped pay for Lawrence Shankland’s wages during his last season there and his goals earned them thousands of extra cash by earning a top 4 finish and a play off place.

There’s been a bit of interest again thanks to yesterday’s Dumfries Courier article. If anyone else is interested then please email Richie or follow the Qos Tanner Fund pages on Facebook or Twitter.

Jardi, I know you showed an interest a few months ago mate , did you ever get round to enquiring or joined up ?
